Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team for the track MIA MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna and Maluma were on the same track in Medellin 2019, which was released in 2019. At the time of 2020, some reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at the genre's direction toward the mainstream but a new generation including Rauw Alejandro wanted to ensure that reggaeton was evolving.
