Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress director producer, and vocalist. In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actress, Lucy Liu serves as a role-model for several Asian actors in Hollywood that want to be successful. An early string of success performances in popular TV series led to her becoming well-known for her part in the character on Ally McBeal, where she played Ling Woo. After her fame, she got important roles for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Then, she gave an her best role in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime-lord O Ren Ishii. Also, she portrayed leading characters in failed box office films such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and many others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen parts, did not achieve any success. Southland is a critically acclaimed police show that Liu played frequently and allowed her to be a famous as an actor. Liu selects her roles carefully to avoid becoming typecast in the highly competitive field. She has taken on her Chinese heritage but hasn't let it limit her artistically.
