Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. The modeling career she began with was in Italy which is where she was raised and was born in California. Her first acting role was in 1996's TV movie Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get a part on Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. This was not easy for Amy because she had transition from modelling to acting. Models aren't considered great actors so they tend to play smaller, less important roles. Amy never gave up. Her first big role came in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. Amy later stepped into lead roles in the love story Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been seeking more than a decade. Amy worked on several of the most famous films including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she played an enduring character.
